Hyunjeong Jin is a partner in Honesty & JR partners. Ms. Jin practices intellectual property law including patents, trademarks and trade secrets. Ms. Jin is a patent attorney qualified in Korea. From over 10 years of practice, Ms. Jin has gained a wide range of experience in complex legal, technical and business issues involving intellectual property in the field of Chemistry and Biotechnology.

Ms. Jin’s practice includes intellectual property strategy, strategic procurement of patents and other intellectual property, litigation and disputes on patents and other intellectual property, patent infringement and invalidity studies, intellectual property due diligence, licensing and technology transfer.

She has represented global technology leaders, universities and start-up companies in various industries and technologies, including chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, material science, medical devices, semiconductor, secondary battery and solar cell.

With the background in the Korean IP practice, Ms. Jin has represented many Korean companies and Universities, including Samsung (SDI, Cheil industry), POSCO, Hanmi pharmaceuticals in their Korea and global intellectual property matters. Ms. Jin also has handled substantial amount of patent prosecution matters of U.S. or Europe based global companies including BASF, Evonik, Chemetall GmbH, Airproducts, Millenium Pharm Inc, etc. in her previous jobs. She has a deep understanding about strengths and weaknesses of global companies in their intellectual property and handling of intellectual property issues in Korea and global setting. She effectively addresses and manages these issues for successful outcome.

Ms. Jin has litigated patent litigation cases and a few representative examples include the following:
• Successfully represented Air products regarding the Invalidation litigation cases, involving the patent “Etch Residue Removers and Cleaners"
• Successfully represented ITW regarding the Invalidation litigation, Infringement and Compensation lawsuit cases against DPS, involving the patent “Thermal transferred dye sheet printer”
• Represented ITW regarding the patent infringement case before the Korea Trade Commission (KTC).
